Planting & Care
Sow Bee Balm seeds indoors 6-8 weeks before the last frost. Press seeds lightly into the soil surface, as they require light to germinate. Keep the growing medium consistently moist but not waterlogged. Once seedlings have several sets of true leaves, harden them off and transplant outdoors after the danger of frost has passed. Space plants 18-24 inches apart to allow good air circulation.
Bee Balm thrives in rich, moist soil and benefits from regular watering, especially during dry spells. Deadhead spent flowers to encourage continued blooming. In late fall, cut back stems to ground level. Divide clumps every 2-3 years to maintain vigor and prevent overcrowding. Mulch around plants to retain moisture and suppress weeds.
