Plumeria, also known as Frangipani, is a tropical shrub or small tree prized for its clusters of fragrant, five-petaled flowers. The blooms come in shades of white, yellow, and pink, adding a touch of the tropics to any garden or patio. These perennial plants are perfect for warm climates and can be grown in containers in cooler regions, bringing exotic beauty and a delightful fragrance to your outdoor space.
Plumeria plants feature glossy, leathery leaves and a rounded, spreading habit. They are relatively low-maintenance once established and make stunning specimen plants, hedges, or container subjects. The flowers are long-lasting and are often used in leis and floral arrangements.

Planting & Care
To grow Plumeria from seeds, start indoors in a warm, bright location. Sow seeds in a well-draining seed-starting mix, barely covering them with soil. Keep the medium consistently moist but not waterlogged, and maintain a temperature of 70-80°F (21-27°C). Germination can take several weeks to a few months. Once seedlings have developed a few sets of true leaves, transplant them into larger pots or into the garden after the danger of frost has passed.
Plumeria plants thrive in full sun and well-drained soil. Water regularly during the growing season, but reduce watering in winter when the plant is dormant. Fertilize monthly with a balanced fertilizer during the growing season to encourage blooming. In cooler climates, grow Plumeria in containers and bring indoors before the first frost. Prune lightly to maintain shape and remove dead or damaged branches.
