General Information: Rhubarb Swiss Chard (Beta vulgaris) is a cool-season biennial grown as an annual for its edible leaves and stems. The bright red stems provide stunning visual contrast in both vegetable gardens and ornamental beds. This variety is highly productive and can be harvested continuously throughout the growing season.

Growing Information: Direct sow seeds in early spring as soon as soil can be worked, or in late summer for fall harvest. Plant seeds 1/2 inch deep, spacing 2-3 inches apart in rows 18-24 inches apart. Thin seedlings to 6-12 inches apart when they reach 3-4 inches tall.

USDA Zones: 3-10
Light Requirements: Full sun to partial shade (at least 4-6 hours of direct sunlight daily)
Water Requirements: Regular, consistent watering (1-1.5 inches per week). Keep soil evenly moist but not waterlogged.
Soil Requirements: Well-drained, fertile soil with pH 6.0-7.0
Days to Maturity: 50-60 days for baby leaves, 60-70 days for full-sized leaves
Harvest: Begin harvesting outer leaves when plants are 6-8 inches tall, allowing center leaves to continue growing for continuous production.

These seeds are suitable for both beginner and experienced gardeners, producing nutritious greens that are rich in vitamins A, C, and K, as well as minerals like iron and magnesium. The plants are heat-tolerant and can withstand light frosts, making them versatile for various growing conditions.
